Spend the day outdoors, then gather at the picnic and hammock area by the creek or the timber-frame pavilion, complete with a massive wood-burning fireplace—perfect for al fresco dining or s’mores under the stars. Summary: This weekend we got married at Roan Mountain and stayed at this cabin. We had two families staying here and we throughly enjoyed our stayed. It was a beautiful property and in an excellent location. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek and roasting marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace, while the adults enjoyed drinking coffee under the pavilion, listening to the fire crackle and the birds chirping. We hiked down the AT to Laurel Falls waterfall and enjoyed the day on Sunday exploring all the beauty nearby. The cabin itself was a perfect set up, clean, and so relaxing. We especially loved enjoying each others company and watching the kids use their imaginations outdoors without the distraction of television or electronics. It was a perfectly unplugged weekend! The hosts were wonderful to communicate with and extremely hospitable. We will definitely be re-booking the cabin for a future family trip.
