Positive: Hosts were incredibly pleasant and easy to engage with, made us feel welcome and were open to feedback, which we appreciated. Mentioned that the property is relatively new, so it was nice to see her being proactive about improving things. Communication before check-in was seamless, and Malik was on time to meet us at the boat, which made our arrival stress-free. The location is also a plus: it’s close to the jetty, so moving around was easy, especially since our friends were staying in Shela and we could meet up without hassle. The internet was also reliable throughout our stay, which was important for me as I had some work to handle remotely. We also appreciated that the team took our feedback on breakfast seriously, hile the first meal was underwhelming, they made adjustments that reflected our requests for the next few days.
Negative: There were a few issues that made the stay less comfortable than it could have been. We came back more than once to find the front door locked with no one around, and had to wait outside until someone showed up. It would really help if guests were given a key or if someone communicated clearly about when the house would be locked. The rooms weren’t cleaned for the first two days and cleaning was only offered the day before we left, which felt like an afterthought. Some light daily cleaning, or at least a mid-stay refresh, would go a long way. The pool shown in photos is more of a decorative water feature, good to know so people don’t expect to swim. When it rained, the stairs got wet and slippery, and while that’s understandable given the open design of the house, we would’ve expected that someone would mop them regularly to prevent slipping or tracking water through the space. The bathrooms could also use larger towels, which would be more practical and comfortable, and replacing bar soap with dispensers would be more hygienic and sustainable. Most notably, we didn’t have hot water during our stay. Only one person in our group had a brief moment of warm water on the last night, but for the rest of us, it was cold showers throughout. Lastly, having a microwave on-site would be really helpful for guests who want to warm food or eat in more flexibly.
Summary: A welcoming stay with great hosts and location if a few practical issues are addressed.
