Positive: - Location was fantastic, ideally situated between Windermere and the lake. Walkable from the station; easy to get to the lake; easy to get to restaurants. - I went for the pricier "Occasion" room, and the view from the window was amazing. It was wonderful to spend long evenings reading out on the room's terrace. - The bed was extremely comfy. - The staff were helpful and friendly - The bath in the room was huge, and I enjoyed several long baths in there
Negative: - I didn't love having to book a time for breakfast. Overall the breakfast situation felt too formal; I'd really prefer a buffet to waiter service for breakfast. - I enjoyed two very relaxing baths but on the third day, my bath seemed to start leaking out the plughole -- I couldn't get the bath to fill up. In the end I gave up. - The room came equipped with a large hairdryer but it seemed quite underpowered -- it took ages to dry my hair - Lots of instant coffee sachets were supplied in my room but no teabags. The coffee sachets also seemed quite difficult to open! - The room had very thick curtains for the large glass door onto the terrace, but sunlight seemed to easily escape over the top of them meaning I was woken by the sun quite early every morning. This seemed like a reasonable sacrifice for the incredible view, but some blinds might be a better fit for those windows. - The room was consistently a *little* bit too hot unless I had the terrace door open wide - The bathroom had "mood lighting" options, but the remote to control this seemed slightly faulty -- it was hard to switch the mode from flashing lights to a gentle fade between colours. - The TV in the room had very few channels, and no "smart TV" apps such as Netflix/iPlayer/Amazon Prime
