Positive: This villa is spectacular ( like a small stately home) and so has lots of rooms both downstairs and up stairs. We were a large family group and the layout upstairs allowed us as couples with or without children to have our own space and privacy. Overall the Villa was clean and well equipped and grounds were very grand, The pool and outside space was very good and well equipped. The grounds also housed the ‘owners/property managers living quarters. The owner/property manager met us on arrival and was very helpful and welcoming. There are strict recycling and bin rules which proved a little confusing at first but we supported the principle and managed the system. We loved the location which was only a short walk from two large supermarkets and Lidl. There were also a couple of bars and a lovely family restaurant nearby. The town itself which was in walking distance, was surrounded by outstanding scenery and was very clean (litter free): It was very interesting historically and there were plenty of cafes and shops. There is a train station very near the villa with regular trains to Venice and other places like Padua so we made good use of that. We loved it here and would return.
Negative: We had a small child with us and so we were constantly alert in case he breached the invisible boundary between our space and that of the owner/property manager (I don’t know how that could be addressed without erecting a fence or fencing off the pool area ) . The house also had some ’no go areas’ which again proved hard to police, and every surface in the massive lounge was covered with decorative fragile ( possibly expensive) items which meant that you were constantly worried about them being damaged - so may be removing some of these when the villa is rented would be helpful. One of the bedrooms contained a double bed that was broken and impossible to sleep on so one of the couples had to sleep separately. The washing machine was odd and housed in an outhouse shared with the owner/property manager. As a result I was uncomfortable using it and so had to hand wash clothes for the child over the week : a washer in the house would be a bonus.
Summary: A grand villa in a great location with lovely outside space and pool. Great for large groups.
