We found our “B33 Happy Heron” paradise in 2016 at Barefoot Cottages just north of the village of Port St. Joe and south of Mexico Beach in the Florida panhandle. With quick access to the white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast and the Intercoastal Waterway, Barefoot Cottages is a gated community with individual units, three pools, outdoor gathering, and grilling areas. Barefoot Cottages is a family-oriented community with designated quiet times. You must be 25 years old to book B33 Happy Heron. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.
Our Happy Heron cottage accommodates 6 with 3 bedrooms and ensuites. Just step out of the screened porch directly to the large pool and a hot tub. One of our favorite evening locations is the privacy of the second-level screened porch looking over the pool and spa. The Happy Heron has high-speed internet and streaming services with modern TVs in the living area and every bedroom.

This two-traffic-light community has everything you need at a laid-back pace that talks to your soul.
