Positive: It's a historic building and cute. The Faust is in walking distance to New Braunsfels downtown area and "Wurstfest" venue. We went to the festival so choosing a in walking distance location was important to us.
Negative: It's old; that has its charme but also downsides, like a very small room and even smaller bathroom. Which in itself is not a problem, but seems highly overpriced (over $300 for one night).
