Summary: We stayed for a long weekend in a series of winter storms. The house is well off the main hwy (108) and the roads to the neighborhood are potholed, hilly, fairly windy, and narrow…all of which is fine when it is reasonably good weather but not great in snow and heavy rain that we had. The driveway to the house is steep, curved, at a difficult angle from the road and narrow with a literal cliff off the side. There is little room for error. Even with our heavy SUV with 4wd, and having scraped all 100 yards of steep driveway with the supplied shovels, it was treacherous getting out of the driveway in the snow. We literally made the kids get out and wait in the garage to see if my husband could make it up the hill without losing traction and sliding backwards off the cliff... and we are very experienced driving in snow. Getting down the driveway back to the house after a day skiing was scary too. The house itself is great for a large group except that there is only seating for 6 but the house sleeps 12. Maybe not a problem in summer because you could have half the group eat out at the table on the porch. The kitchen table itself is big and could have accommodated at least 2 more chairs but they don’t seem to have folding chairs stashed anywhere) The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The layout is great too. The downstairs has pool table, darts and a skeeball machine. The downstairs heat issue from a prior review had been resolved and the older kids were fine sleeping down there and were able to listen to music and chatter after the little ones went to bed upstairs. The darts and pool cues were mostly broken when we arrived - and the owner didn’t respond when I reported it — but there were a couple of serviceable of each. The garage is messy and has a lot of weird large personal items like a motorized scooter, O2 tanks and large metal chest … but we squeezed two SUVs in. The property is large, private and lovely, it is surrounded by trees, has a small stream, and the back decks are a nice place to admire the view. There is a fire pit that would be nice in good weather. The property management company Evolve is really great and responsive, and also let us check out a bit late to deal with the driveway situation, but the local homeowner contact people never responded to any messages, texts or calls. In sum - we would stay again in summer/spring/fall!
