Restdown is a delightful 1870s settlers homestead which was originally built in the NSW Riverina from where it was carefully dismantled and reassembled using traditional methods on its present idyllic location. Built from cypress pine drop logs and recycled materials, the cottage has been lovingly restored to maintain the historic value of the building. You will not only be graced by Restdown’s historical presence and antique/country style furniture, but by its practicality and energy efficiency. Environmentally sustainable, the water supply is tapped from a natural spring and a combination of solar and hydro generated power supplies the cottage with electricity along with bottled gas.
Escape and immerse yourself in the warmth and character of this rustic cottage. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a relaxing break with friends or family, you have everything you need for a self-catering stay. With a slow combustion fireplace (a quantity of firewood is provided May to September), 2 Queen bedrooms, Queen loft bedroom, antique claw-foot bath, fully equipped kitchen, barbeque and firepit (collect wood and branches from the land); Restdown offers tranquility and total privacy.
Kangaroo Valley village is a short drive away and provides a variety of cafes, the local pub and a general store where you can stock up on essentials for your stay. Explore the national parks with bush walking, mountain bike riding, canoeing and horse riding right on your doorstep.
