Summary: Don't know why VRBO listed this as 4 minutes from the beach because this unit is right ON the beach. So close you can sit on the balcony and hear the waves lap at night, watch the glorious sunrises over the ocean, and watch the freighters/boats and swimmers during the day. The condo was clean, cozy and well stocked with everyday essentials. TV's were excellent and WI-FI super fast and reliable. My hostess, Irme, was top notch. She calls as soon as you check in to see if you need anything and is available 24/7 if you need to call her. I mentioned not having a CD player and 2 hours later she was at the door with one and helped me set up the DVD player. The paved Beach Walk was well lit at night and led to some wonderful, funky diners with patios over the water including Pier 99 (look it up), Landry's, the historic Lexington (Blue Ghost) aircraft carrier, the Aquatic Museum and Wildlife Center, the Art Museum and so many other attractions that you can just walk to. There are so many places to see and things to do around this area that you will run out of time. Shops, independent cafe's as well as major chain resturants, marinas, wildlife preserves for hiking/walking and charming resort spots surround this area in a short driving distance. I would highly recommend Irme"s condo as the place to be if you're looking for a clean, cozy, efficient place to stay with comfortable beds, glorious views and all the amenities of home. I will definitely return for another 3 month stay.
