This isn't filled with inexpensive rental furniture; it's a home designed for comfort and style. THE HOUSE AND OUTDOOR SPACE
LIVING ROOM: The main floor of the house features a living room with a dreamy soft sectional, cozy swing chair, and large windows overlooking the tropical gardens with peekaboo views of the mountains in the distance.
KITCHEN: COMPLETELY REMODELED in 2023 with custom cabinetry and new appliances. We are avid cooks, so probably have whatever pot/pan/cooking utensils you may need, and a huge selection of herbs, spices and seasonings for your use (including numerous fresh herbs growing right outside!)
At the end of the kitchen is a comfortable dining nook, though you may find yourself wanting to enjoy many of your meals al fresco, on the deck, surrounded by gorgeous views of the surrounding hills, listening to the relaxing splashing sounds of the waterfall.
DINING AL FRESCO: The outdoors provides a whole host of lounging and dining options, with seating in various places around the pool, waterfall, and outdoor bar with built-in professional Lynx grill.
DECK & FIRE TABLE: The deck can be enjoyed year-round with its three toasty gas heaters, including a large fire table surrounded by a cozy sectional. A perfect place to roast s'mores, bundled up on a chilly evening! The outdoor expandable teak dining table with comfy chairs is an ideal spot to enjoy a meal, under the optional shade of a 13-ft adjustable cantilever umbrella.
!!!!POOL & POOL HEATER: Easily enjoyed in summer months, from June-October. It's also a delightful treat on warmer days in the wintertime, though heating the pool will incur a $100/day charge. Use of the free-form hot tub is included in the price (see "other details" section for more).
ENTERTAINMENT ROOM: Back indoors, the enclosed entertainment room is equipped with a 65” 4K OLED TV with a surround sound audio system- the perfect space for stretching out and relaxing the night away.
BEDROOM SETUP:
KING BED: The primary bedroom has a king-sized bed that overlooks the pool and mountains and features darkening shades for mornings when you need a little more shuteye before greeting that glorious California sunshine.
BEDROOM# 2/OFFICE: The 2nd bedroom can be used as an office, with a motorized standing desk, Herman Miller Aeron chair, and option to also use a under-desk exercise bike. Our house boasts fast internet (1 Gbps down/40 Mbps up) . The room also features a twin/single-size daybed for relaxing during the day, or for an additional guest. A twin trundle bed tucked under the daybed can be set up for a second guest upon request.
The main floor has two bathrooms with showers- neither is en suite. One of the bathrooms was completely remodeled in 2023. The other bathroom was updated in 2020, and also includes a BATHTUB. Clean and well stocked.
BEDROOM 3: Downstairs is another potential bedroom with an en suite bathroom. This space is accessed with its own private entrance (not connected to the upstairs) and can be set up to serve multiple functions. BED KING or TWIN- it converts to either size.
GYM: If you’d like to work out during your stay, you may choose to use this space as your home gym, taking advantage of the Concept 2 rowing machine, LuluLemon Mirror with subscription to thousands of exercise classes, TRX, plentiful kettlebells, dumbbells, landmine row, Bowflex, and adjustable incline bench.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
San Rafael Hills is a much sought-after, scenic neighborhood on the far South-West corner of the City of Pasadena, adjacent to vibrant Los Angeles neighborhoods of Highland Park and Eagle Rock. It maintains a quiet neighborhood feel while still being up close to all the action.
Old Town Pasadena, with its plentiful shopping and eating options is a 5 minute drive, as is the famous Rose Bowl. An equally short ride will take you into the heart of trendy Highland Park, where you can explore hip new restaurants, coffee shops and bars, or shop for unique finds on York Blvd. Vibrant Eagle Rock also a stone’s throw away, with even more options to check out. Trader Joe’s, Vons and Ralph’s grocery stores are all within 5 minute’s drive. Slightly further out- 15-20 min drive- will get you to Atwater Village, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Downtown LA or Glendale.
Our immediate neighborhood is the perfect setting for a beautiful walk that will double as your cardio for the day! Wonder through the hilly maze of streets, discovering the many secret stair cases tucked between properties. Take in the mountain views and enjoy the eclectic mix of well-maintained homes and beautiful SoCal gardens that make up our friendly area.
