This place is perfect for groups of friends and family who want to explore Lexington and surrounding areas by day, yet retreat to a peaceful country getaway just minutes from downtown Lexington and Interstate I-64 access. The home is 16 miles from Keeneland Racetrack.
PRICING: Base pricing for the home is $285 per night on weekdays and $300 on weekends with a two night minimum stay required. Prices may be higher during the months of April, October, and special event times. All taxes and fees are non-negotiable.

This home is the guest house where my husband and I live with our animals. It is located about 150 feet behind our house. It is conveniently located only 1.5 miles from I-64 and 15 minutes to downtown Lexington. It features a tranquil back patio with a propane fire pit, large second story balcony for stargazing, and will sleep 7 to 10 people. There is parking for 4 to 6 vehicles as well.
The field where our cow and other animals sometimes reside is right next to the guest house. You can sit on the patio and watch the cow and goats graze. If you are not a fan of farm animals, then this is not the rental for you. If you do love animals, you will enjoy seeing them near. They are all very friendly and you may pet them through the fence, but you may not enter the field. Children must be supervised outside.
We also have an Anatolian Shepherd guard dog who lives in the fields with the animals. He is a gentle giant but his job is to keep coyotes and foxes away from the other animals. He works third shift so there are nights that he barks a lot. His barking is not very well heard inside the house, but if you are sitting outside at night, you can hear him very well, especially if the coyotes are yipping in the background.
The house has one first floor bedroom featuring a queen bed. The washer and dryer are located inside the downstairs bedroom closet. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. Two have queen beds. The third has two sets of college bunk beds, for a total of four XL twin beds. The bunk bed frames are sturdy and long enough for children or adults.
Downstairs there is a split bathroom with a tub/shower and vanity in one room and a toilet / vanity in another. This allows guests the freedom to shower and dress in one room while leaving the “throne” open to others. Upstairs, there is a small full bath as well.
The lower level has an open kitchen / dining / living room floor plan and the large farmhouse dining table has seating for 8.
The house has Wi-Fi and free Netflix, HULU, Amazon, and HBO. The Smart TV has many free internet based channels; however there is no cable TV. Please note that cell phone signal is limited inside the house unless connected to the Wi-Fi. Also, the Wi-Fi is wirelessly bridged from our house to the guest house and can be slow depending on the number of devices connected.
*This is an all electric home. There is no gas nor carbon monoxide producing appliances and that is why there is no carbon monoxide detector listed. There are smoke detectors in each bedroom, hallways, and kitchen all throughout the home.
*My husband and I live on-site with our dogs, cat, geese, chickens, goats, and one cow. You will see me or my husband walk down to the back field to feed and care for the animals, but we are respectful or your privacy and we will just give a friendly wave if we see you outside. We rented this house out long term for many years and are accustomed to giving space and privacy and although we do live on site, our home is farther from the guest house than a neighbor would be in town.
HOUSE RULES:
• It is most important to drive extremely slowly down our driveway. Please make sure your odometer barely goes above 0 mph when coming or going down the driveway. We do have speed bumps.
• This is a SHOES-OFF home. The New England White Pine floors were finished in natural, non-toxic tung oil and will patina over time, but do not stand up well to heavy traffic and stains. If you or your guests are not comfortable with our shoes-off policy, then this is not the rental for you.
• The house is on a septic system. Do NOT flush anything other than toilet paper down the commode. All baby wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, make-up removal wipes, contraceptives, and even FLUSHABLE wipes must be placed in the trash.
• Do NOT pour oil or grease down any drains. If cooking bacon or other grease producing food items, please leave the grease to cool in the pan so that the grease or oil may be scraped into the trash once safe to do so.
• This is NOT a party house. We want you to enjoy your stay, but this is not the place for heavy drinking and parties.
• There are no illegal activities allowed. This includes underage drinking, illegal drug use, and usage of the wireless internet for illegal downloads, etc.
• Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am. This means if you and your guests are very active outside, this is the time period to take your activities indoors. However, if you and your guests are QUIETLY enjoying the balcony for star gazing or the back patio for late night quiet chats, please stay out as long as you’d like.
• Absolutely NO smoking OR vaping OF ANY KIND is allowed inside the house. If smoking outside, please dispose of your cigarette butts in the receptacles provided. Flinging cigarette butts in the yard is against house rules.
• There are no pets allowed at this rental. No exceptions.
• Only you and the number of guests for whom you reserved are allowed at the house. This means, no visitors or unaccounted guests. If you reserve for four individuals including yourself, then only you and three other guests are allowed. (If you would like to have family or friends visit you during your stay, please reach out to us before booking to describe your special circumstance. We are happy to accommodate, but want to avoid guests booking for a certain number of people but arriving with more overnight guests than allowed.)
• Children and infants do not stay free. If you are reserving with children or infants less than 2 years of age, you must list them as over 2 years of age in the number of guests staying.
• You are responsible for both you and your guests’ behavior. All house rules must be relayed to each and every one of your guests. Failure to abide by our house rules may result in a negative review of your stay and a claim upon your security deposit.
