The River Tent @ StayCamp is an off-grid luxury camping experience. With total seclusion in mind we situated the tent at the back of our private 44 acre property overhanging your very own river. Hike along the trails, relax by the waterfall, or take a nap in a king size bed. Use the supplied cookware to prepare a meal over an open fire, or order out at the many local restaurants all within a 10 minute drive.

The space
Our luxury 12’x15’ tent is just the right size for a couple looking for a romantic getaway, or a small family looking for a peaceful adventure. We have a super comfy king size memory foam mattress inside and everything you need to enjoy your Stay including cast iron cookware, dishes and utensils. We have a cooler to keep your food and drinks cold and are currently stocking it with ice for guests who book two nights or more. The tent is completely off-grid so there is no power or running water. In the winter the tent is heated by a wood burning stove and in the summer it is cooled by an electric water cooled fan. All of our lights are solar, or battery powered. 3 gallons of fresh water is provided inside of the tent for drinking. If you are a coffee lover we have you covered! A kettle, pour over coffee maker and coffee is provided for all guests! (Order our breakfast package and it comes freshly brewed for you!) Just boil your water over the campfire and pour it into the pour over coffee maker. Please bring your favorite coffee add-ins! We built StayCamp to encourage guests to disconnect with the outside world and connect with nature! With that being said, we do not have WiFi at the tent. Most cellphone providers work well here so you could use your mobile hotspot if you needed to get some work done.
Our outdoor bathroom is truly simplistic by design. Inside you’ll find a compostable toilet, Solar canvas bucket shower, and an electric faucet connected to a 5 gallon fresh water tank. Eco friendly hair/body products are included as well as fresh towels and washcloths.
What is a compostable toilet?
Basically, it is a freshly lined bucket inside of a wooden box with a toilet lid. Fresh pine shaving are use to cover “your business” and keep any smells away.
What is a solar canvas bucket shower?
It is a bucket made from a canvas material with a brass shower head attached at the bottom. In the warmer months you can fill it with water and set it in the sun to heat up. Another way you can use it is to fill it with water than boil some water using the kettle over a fire and pour it in until you’ve reached your desired temperature. A full bucket will allow you a 6 minute shower.
Guest access
You have access to 30+ acres of trails, creeks, a river and water fall! Once you arrive at our location you will drive down the driveway, into the forest and park. The River Tent is approximately a 4-5 minute scenic walk down a declining trail through the forest. We suggest not packing anything too heavy. For those not interested in a little hike, we promise it’s worth it! We also can arrange a UTV ride to and from camp for a fee.
