Positive: The views were lovely, peaceful. Clean bathroom. Great potential for a good stay but housekeeping and host communication disappointing.

Negative: The property didn’t feel or look as if it had had a good clean before our arrival. Cobwebs. Dirty windows inside and out. No wine glasses but dirty champagne glasses and only one glass tumbler. There was a piece of broken glass on the crockery shelf. The metal mugs were brown inside - the kettle needed descaling and hot drinks were covered in surface film. Smeary cutlery. Plenty of kindling, firewood and firelighters but the two lighters were empty and there were no matches. The outside metal and wood table and chairs had green and black mould on them. The trough planter on the decking was full of moss and weeds. We messaged the owner through Booking.com and left a phone message asking politely if we could have replacement wine glasses and another tumbler on our first evening but had no response throughout our stay.

Summary: Beautiful situation, great potential but let down by housekeeping and communication.
