Marina del Cantone is the bay of Nerano, a wide beach, with free areas, bathing establishments and restaurants built on stilts over the sea of the Amalfi Coast.
Exposure to the South and the mountains that shelter it from the wind make it possible to enjoy the beautiful sunny days from late March to late October.
The water is always very clean and pleasantly fresh.
On the left side of the beach the sun sets about an hour later than the right side (called the beach of the Germans). Not to be missed
In all the restaurants on the beach you will find spaghetti alla Nerano, the dish invented right here based on pasta, zucchini and cheese. It is said that the original version is from the restaurant Da Mariagrazia, but they are excellent almost everywhere! Not really a light lunch break, but you certainly won't regret it!

From Marina del Cantone a path starts which, in about a quarter of an hour walk, leads to the Bay of Recommone.
A suggestive corner of the Amalfi Coast, well sheltered from the winds, where there is only one bathing establishment La Conca del Sogno, with its restaurant (also open in the evening).
In the cove there are two caves: the Grotta di Recommone and the Grotta dei Pescatori, particularly pleasant to get a little cool on summer days.
The beach of the Bay of Ieranto is located at the end of the long path that leads from Nerano towards the extreme point of the Amalfi Coast, where it joins the Sorrento Peninsula.

We are on the eastern side of Punta Campanella, a territory sacred first to the Greeks, who here erected a temple to the Sirens, and then to the Romans, who reconverted the temple to worship the Goddess Minerva.
The beach is located in a cove exactly in front of the Faraglioni of Capri.
The path that starts from Nerano is about two kilometers long and the descent takes about half an hour. Instead, calculate a little more for the climb (to be tackled strictly at sunset!).
Punta Campanella is the extreme tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula, perhaps here stood the Greek temple dedicated to the sirens, whose mythical foundation is attributed to Ulysses.
A pleasant excursion on foot is the only way to reach Punta Campanella, through a journey of about an hour on the northern slope of the Promontorium Minervae, which separates the Gulf of Naples from the Gulf of Salerno. The stretch is part of the Path of Athena, a ring circuit that connects Punta Campanella to Monte San Costanzo
