The Byre is a wonderful cottage located just 10-miles from the golden sands of Saltburn-by-the-sea. Sleeping up to four guests, the cottage will provide a great base for peaceful getaway in a secluded location with amenities and the coast a short drive away. What’s more, there is a hot tub so you can relax and enjoy the countryside views to your heart's content during your stay. The property is also dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry pals along for the trip!
The Space:
The open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area at The Byre is a great space for enjoying quality time with family and friends. The space exudes a country vibe with exposed beams and a traditional kitchen. The living area boasts a sofa, two armchairs and a flat-screen Smart TV for when you want to relax. The dining table seats four, so there is plenty of room for all guests to be comfortably accommodated.
The Byre’s first bedroom is a delightful country retreat boasting a king-size bed and with beautiful paintings of nature adorning the walls. It comes with excellent storage space, so guests don’t need to worry about where they’ll keep their belongings. Guests staying in this bedroom will also have access to an ensuite bathroom.
The second bedroom is furnished with twin beds and a bedside table and lamp. It also has a wooden wardrobe that is in keeping with the style of this farmland property to keep your clothing and bags tidied away. Should you wish to join the twin beds together, this can be done upon request.
The family bathroom has everything you need to get ready for the day ahead. It has a large walk-in shower, a wash basin, and a WC.
Head outside at The Byre and you’ll find a well-maintained, securely enclosed rear garden with a hot tub, perfect for a relaxing night. A chilled atmosphere is well and truly created thanks to the lighting under the pergola. If you fancy cooking outdoors and dining al fresco, BBQ facilities are available for you.
From December 1st until January 1st, The Byre will be decorated for Christmas.
The Byre is located within the same site as The Hayloft, a three bedroom cottage. Together the cottages can sleep 10 guests in total. Please contact our friendly team if you are travelling in a larger party and wish to enquire about availability for both cottages.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property which is accessed with keys provided in a key safe. Details on this will be provided prior to your stay.
Private on-site parking is available for two vehicles. There are no electric vehicle facilities and charging from internal sockets is not permitted.
Please note that the property is accessed via a farm track from the main road.
The Neighborhood:
The Byre is located in the village of Grinkle, 10-miles from the charming Victorian Spa town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the North Yorkshire coast.
In Saltburn, take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade and you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. The promenade has numerous shops, takeaways, cafes, restaurants, and the Pier’s amusement arcade for the kids. The long sandy shores are overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts and high cliffs tower in the distance.
Saltburn has plenty of beautiful walks too. The Valley Gardens are a maze of paths and tracks which wind through the flowers and woodland. If you want to explore further, The Cleveland Way National Trail is over 100 miles long and the lovely Saltburn is featured. If you fancy a 17.5 mile jaunt, start at Saltburn and walk your way to Sandsend. This walk is a great way to explore the North Yorkshire coastline and the views are beautiful!
Getting Around:
The Byre is within a 25-minute drive of all that Saltburn has to offer and within 30 minutes’ drive time of Staithes, Whitby, Middlesbrough and the North York Moors National Park.
Saltburn Train Station has routes to Longbeck, Redcar, Middlesbrough and Darlington with connecting trains to Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester and London.
