If you’re looking for a cosy place to stay with great access links to the coast, look no further than House 1. Nestled in the small, peaceful village of Skinningrove, you’ll have easy access to renowned walks and cycling routes such as the infamous 100 mile long Cleveland Way Trail and Skinningrove beach. Sleeping up to six guests across three spacious bedrooms, House 1 is perfect for group getaways and family stays.
The Space:
House 1 is a thoughtfully laid out holiday home packed with homely features. Set over three floors, the house is located perfectly for exploring the coastline and the North York Moors National Park.
LIVING AREA
After heading up the entrance stairs, you’ll be on the first floor which is where you’ll find an open plan living and kitchen area. Light in appearance, the living area features a neutral colour palette and an all-round cosy feel. The ideal place to relax after a day of exploring the local area, you can kick back on the leather corner sofa and switch on the Smart TV to keep up with your favourite shows.
KITCHEN
To the rear of the space, you’ll find the fully equipped kitchen. The modern space features black, shiny brick style tiles and modern appliances. You’ll have everything you could need for your self-catering staycation as the kitchen has all necessary utensils and cookware so you can prepare meals easily throughout your stay.
BEDROOM
There is also a bedroom on the first floor. The two comfy single beds boast premium bed linens and plush bedding so you can enjoy your nights sleep at House 1. A tall white wooden wardrobe and drawers complete the space.
Also on the first floor is the family bathroom which has a bath, separate shower, WC and wash basin.
Upstairs on the second floor, you’ll find the second bedroom. This space features a king size bed, bedside drawers and lamps, and a tall wardrobe. You can wake up to views of clear skies across the surrounding moorland so you can start your day with the calm you need.
The third bedroom at House 1 is a twin. This cosy nook is ideal for children and teenagers, and with added storage space there is everything you need to make yourself right at home.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to House 1 are accessed via a secure key safe, and full details will be provided prior your arrival.
Ample on-site parking is available in a communal car park.
The Neighborhood:
The village of Skinningrove is guaranteed to provide the perfect setting for a peaceful retreat. Head to the far end of the village and you’ll discover the beautiful Cattersty Sands, one of Britain’s most stunning beaches. A visit to the Land of Iron at Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum is also worthwhile if you want to discover Skinningrove’s history and traditions.
Just up the bank is the small, family friendly town of Loftus which has independent shops and amenities including the award winning Willow Cake Shop, Wold Pottery for arts and crafts and a micro gin bar. If you’re looking to get active during your stay, join the infamous 100 mile long Cleveland Way Trail or venture to Staithes along Boulby Cliffs which is the highest cliff on the east coast! Loftus is also an ideal base for cycling as you will find the Tour de Yorkshire and the Klondike pass by at the end of the road. If you want to partake in cycling yourself, there are plenty of uphill climbs to get your heart racing!
The gorgeous seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea is also just a short drive away. Here you’ll find golden sandy shores and a bustling town centre. You can take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade where you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. The beach is overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts, a fish restaurant, arcades and a surf shop making it the ideal spot for a day at the seaside.
Also close to Loftus is the charming fishing village of Staithes. The quaint coastal hamlet was recently named one of Britain’s most beautiful seaside villages. It has high cliffs, winding streets and mismatched cottages bursting with charm. Staithes is a magnet for art and artists alike. Throughout the village you’ll find amazing painted illusions known as the ‘Painted Illusions Trail’ created by the famous artist Paul Czainski. It is also the home to the impressionist art society, known as Staithes Group, and their work can always be seen dotted around. Getting Around:
House 1 is within a short walking distance of everything that Skinningrove has to offer. It is within 15 minutes’ drive time of Saltburn and Staithes, and 30 minutes’ drive time Whitby so the coast and surrounding area can be easily explored.
The closest train station is located in Saltburn and has routes to Longbeck, Redcar, Middlesbrough, Darlington, York, Leeds and Manchester, with connecting trains to London.
