If beer is your thing, nearby Eden Brewery is the ideal place to spend a Friday afternoon with burgers, beers, music, and a relaxed vibe. Or travel a little further afield to the unique and stunning Joadja distillery, located in the previously abandoned heritage village which produces award-winning local Gin. You can't go past their Pedro Ximenez either, served chilled over ice in Summer, or neat when it's chilly outside. It's imported from Spain and barrelled and aged locally, and is outstanding.
Of course, Bowral and it's surrounds are adorned with gorgeous shops and restaurants, there are the quaint and unique villages of Exeter, Burrawang, Robertson, and Berrima (amongst others) to enjoy, gorgeous waterfalls and swimming holes, great places to eat, and a thriving art scene to explore.
Hopewood Cottage is located in a quiet and leafy part of Bowral. The township is a 15 - 20min walk down either Nott's Hill, or the slightly longer but flatter and busier Centennial road. The neighbourhood itself is tucked away from the main town centre and features only a handful of streets... a well-kept secret from most Bowral residents. Neighbours are often seen walking into town on a weekend morning to grab a coffee or enjoy breakfast or brunch at one of the lovely cafes. With few footpaths, cars are used to seeing pedestrians strolling along and know to slow down and pass carefully, though care should always be taken, especially in the early morning when it's still dark.
Despite the property being fully fenced and secure, we politely request that no pets join you on your visit. The neighbourhood dogs who reside in nearby homes would delight in barking at any visiting pups, causing a disruption to all.
Hopewood Cottage is within walking distance to Peppers Craigieburn and the Gibraltar Hotel, both with stunning golf courses, with the Gibraltar featuring one of the prettiest views over Bowral township at hole 4.
A little further afield, guests can walk to the beautiful Centennial Vineyards for delicious food and wine tasting, or can stroll into Bowral for brunch or some shopping. Although there is plenty to see on foot, a drive to the quaint villages of Berrima, Burrawang, and Robertson is highly recommended!
