The space
a space designed to see time pass. inspired by cabins in the norwegian mountains, using japanese design cues and a minimalist philosophy. every interior space is carefully created with a strong emphasis on what matters - comfort and nature.
the house was built with nature in mind, and encourages living simply and minimally. the setting of the house is serene and free from every day distractions. amazing views of nature in all directions.
drawing inspiration from scandinavian minimalism and japanese design, the two bedroom, one bathroom cabin embraces an open-concept floor plan. the main living space is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows and is centered around a rotating wood stove that provides 360-degree access to the fire. every piece in the interior is carefully selected to focus on the importance of nature. check-in and gaze at the mountains, unwind with a book, listen to the sounds of the forest and cook to the calming crackling of the fireplace. wake up to light seeping through wooden shutters, which are adjustable from the exterior of the house to achieve the desired privacy and light allowed into the space.
down the steps into the woods, hinterhouse has a private spa area with a floor-to-ceiling windowed sauna available all year round and an ice-cold shower available from May to October.

It is recommended that guests arrive before sundown in order to find the house with ease. It is dark in that area at night and can be difficult to read the small road signs.
Other things to note
we intentionally chose not to put curtains or blinds in any of the rooms, to truly submerse oneself in the landscape. however, in the warmer months, from the outside of the house, you can play with the large wooden shutters to adjust the lighting and privacy to your liking.
