Positive: Green Island is a unique place and we were so pleased to have had the opportunity to stay there. We loved the older style but gracious accommodation. Staff seemed to overall be backpackers but were friendly and helpful.
Negative: What really let’s this place down is the restaurant. It is supposed to be a la carte. The food is nowhere near this standard and there is no other choices to eat on the island in the evening. The breakfast is $40 per person even if you only want toast! In my opinion, ditch the “a la carte” and provide some decent food with flavour. Taking into account the accommodation is on an island which I imagine creates some obstacles, for what you pay to stay here, the food options were a surprise and very disappointing. The clientele is largely Asian, no choices for them either.
Summary: Fabulous and wonderful place let down by forcing people to eat at below standard restaurant.
