This typical Madeira Cottage was built in 1952 and renovated in 2007. It has its unique charming due to the lovely decoration details, like paintings of the owner, knitted curtains and an old stone oven in the kitchen which was used to make bread in the oldden days. It has its own character, special details that turns this house an unique place.
The house has 3 double bedrooms which accommodates 6 people. Besides, there is a single bed, ideal for a child and a cot too. There are 2 shower rooms. A sofa-bed is also available in the lounge.
The house consists of two floors: downstairs you will find the rustic, cosy kitchen with a big stove and oven. There is a big table in the kitchen another in the dinning room and a table for up to 10 people outside on the covered terrace where people can enjoy their meals. Garden furniture and a mobile barbecue is also available. The upper floor, as has been discribed are all bedrooms. One bedroom has a private shower room. Another bathroom is shared by the two other bedrooms. The living room offers a sofabed.
You can enjoy the panoramic view from the beautiful garden, relax in a hammock in the shade or on the sun terrace - read a book sitting on a stony bench in the garden, while enjoying the superb view over the Atlantic Ocean and the valley of this rural village called Arco da Calheta. The house is ca. 300 m above sea level. There is an exotic and beautiful garden with hundreds of different species of plants, ideal for people interested in nature. The place is very calm and quite where you can enjoy the noise of the silence and the singing of lovely birds that constantly visit the plants and make their curious nests.
