This shingle-style house with contemporary light-filled interiors is set in the Devon highlands estate area. Very private but centrally located less than a mile to ocean beaches, ½ mile to Gardiner’s Bay beaches, and 2 miles from the Amagansett Farmers Market and village. (A very easy ride on the several bikes provided.)
This home is only rented for a single two-week period each summer.
Perfect for a family as the first floor of the main house is a gracious open area. (See first floor plan in photos). The ten-foot-tall coffered-ceiling living room opens with three sets of oversize French doors to a covered porch that runs the length of the house. There are three areas on the porch overlooking the gardens and pool, one with with porch swing and wicker furniture; and two areas screened-in -- a teak dining table area and a lounging area with sofa and chairs.
The open chef’s kitchen with marble counter tops, large island with stools, two each Miele ovens, dishwashers and sinks makes meal preparation and entertaining easy. The dining table seats ten. There are three sets of French doors in the dining area that open onto the full-length covered porch. There are two raised-bed kitchen gardens with fresh herbs and greens off of this end of the covered porch.
Dividing the first floor of the house is a breezeway/mudroom tiled in honed slate. This room separates the three-room master suite on the first floor. Opening off of the breezeway is a laundry room with a high-efficiency washer and dryer, a powder room and an outdoor shower.
The master bedroom has large windows facing pristine woods and a spacious, windowed dressing room/office. The master bath has a double marble-topped vanity with two sinks. The view is over the hydrangea flowers into the garden. There is a Bain Ultra deep soaking tub and a large glass-enclosed shower with hand spray.
The master suite includes a media room with a large sectional sofa, smart flat-screen TV with Apple TV and built-in desk for two computers.
The second floor consists of two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms at opposite ends and a large living/social room in between. This center room has two twin beds and a full size sofa. (See second floor plan in photos). These three rooms open into the windowed, oversize landing that allows sunlight to spill into the upstairs room and the first floor living room.
The pool, down a few bluestone steps from the breezeway, is the focal point of the two-acre property. It has a 16’ X 44’ heated Gunite pool completely fenced from the house and a bluestone patio with lounge chairs. Recently added is a fabulous new pool house with a full wet bar and an indoor bathroom including a shower.
The house has roof-top solar panels that provide electricity, three-zone central air conditioning, and a high-efficiency hot water heater.
The house is set up for easy summer living with several bikes with helmets and baskets, a kayak, wetsuits, surfboards, beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. The two-car garage has an EV charging station.
An elegantly decorated private family retreat wonderful for entertaining. This home is rented of only one two-week period annually.

If a new reservation is not made, the guest may use the property for the dates of its original reservation so long as payments have been made in accordance with the payment schedule established at the time of booking and Marquis is notified in writing 72 hours or more prior to the start of the reservation.
