This amazing property is on stunning Cathead Bay on Lake Michigan in Northport. This beautiful guest cottage is the perfect getaway. We recommend this for a maximum of two adults comfortably. A queen bed is in the main room, and there is a small bedroom with bunk beds for children. The decor is charming and there is a full kitchen available. This guest cottage is part of a larger property but does have a private entrance. There are 17 stairs up to the front door and a boardwalk to the beach.
Miles of beautiful Lake Michigan beach are just steps away. Ultimate relaxation awaits right outside the door. Spectacular sunsets are on the menu every night at this peaceful location. Sit on the beach around the fire pit (propane) and enjoy the show! A private deck in the back overlooks the Leelanau State Park. There are many local hiking trails, parks, and beaches to explore. It is an easy drive to the villages of Northport or Leland for dining and shopping.

Summary: We have always given 5 star reviews at our VRBOs but can not this time. The location is gorgeous-right on the beach in a quiet area backed up by sand dunes. The space is lovely for a short stay. However, when we arrived the curtain liner was full of orange mold and the white shower curtain had black mold and dirt on it. The sink had what looked like fish in the sink strainer. The bed skirt had some crunchy stuff all over it. There were ants.. lots of ants. By 8 am one morning I had killed over 100. I stopped counting after 200. All of this could have been better if the management company was responsive. We left a text message on Saturday evening and by Monday noon, we still hadn’t heard from them. I called again and they did not apologize. I gave them a list of things that needed attending to. They only changed the shower liner. I had to call again. Then they said they would get at it the next day. Well, by then we are on day 4 of 5. Bottom line—it would have been a great place if it were kept up. I do not know if they had a different cleaning person or what the problem was. We ended up leaving a day early. When we texted the management company that we were leaving we did not get a response. I texted again and they said they would get back to me in 48 hours. Clearly they do not prioritize customer service.
