However, after several winters passed without his return, it was assumed that Sam had perished, taking the secret of his mine's location with him.
Fast forward to the 1890s when a miner, prospecting near the treeline, stumbled upon an old cabin nestled beside a mine shaft. Intrigued, the miner collected a sample from the mine and took one of Trapper Sam's distinctive spades before returning to town. An experienced local recognized the spade as one of Trapper Sam's creations, leading to a lengthy quest to rediscover the long-lost mine.
