Situated on the shores of pristine and private Crawford Pond, The Lakehouse is the ultimate Maine lakefront vacation retreat! We like it because it is large enough to accommodate a small family or a group of friends, with comfortable and usable outdoor spaces ranging from a sandy approach to the lake, a dock, kayaks, and a shaded deck space. Spend the day reading, fishing, visiting, walking, boating, or swimming - if you want to do it, this is the place where it can happen!
The Lakehouse has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a sleeping nook in the balcony, and extra beds in a finished basement. The main suite has an Olympic queen bed with a full en-suite bathroom. The other two bedrooms have two twins and one queen - these bedrooms are connected by a full shared bathroom. Outside these bedrooms, you can find a cozy little alcove with a futon, perfect for an overnight guest or someone who doesn't need as much privacy as your other guests. The first floor has a large, fully-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and banquet that can seat the full house.
There is a full bathroom with a shower on the first floor, along with a living room accented by vaulted ceilings and a large stone fireplace. There is a den area with a large TV and lots of comfortable seating as well. A finished section of the basement can sleep additional guests in two double beds if overflow sleeping space is needed.
Outside, the property is surrounded by mature trees and a lush green lawn. The waterfront is child-friendly with a sandy bottom gently sloping into the lake. There is a dock to fish, swim, or launch kayaks or canoes from. You can also relax in the hammock lakeside. The deck is multi-level with a sitting area, complete with Adirondack chairs and a firepit, a full-length deck with a relaxed patio set, and a lower level with a pergola and a more formal outdoor dining area.
The Lakehouse is peaceful and serene. Crawford Pond is a private, residential area that is closed to public boating which makes the lake much quieter with less boat traffic than lakes with public access. According to the Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program, Crawford Pond encompasses 596 acres with a perimeter of 10.9 miles. You will hear loons, water lapping the shore, and really have the opportunity to unwind and relax.
Amenities include free WiFi, four flatscreen TVs, a full-size washer and dryer, a dishwasher, firewood, and a dock. Kayaks are also provided. The larger cities of Rockland and Camden are within a 15-minute drive and Union is an excellent waypoint to start day trips from.
