Roscoe Cabin | Charming small barn conversion with stunning East Rosebud views

1 Bedroom Cabin with Bedding, Internet and Kitchen

Located twenty miles west of Red Lodge, on Dickinson Ranch just outside Roscoe Montana, Andy's Cabin awaits your visit. This charming small barn conversion enjoys a stunning riverside setting, with beautiful views of the confluence of the East Rosebud River and Morris Creek. Inside the cabin has been renovated into a three season holiday getaway, combining the old character of the building with modern amenities and extra windows to enjoy views in all directions.
Andy's Cabin has one bedroom that sleeps two adults. It has a full kitchen with a microwave oven (but not a dishwasher), and the three quarter bathroom has a cedar-lined shower. The cabin also features a cast iron gas fireplace and a great terrace right next to the confluence. Please note the cabin does not have a washer and dryer. There is basic wifi throughout the cabin.
The overall feel of the cabin is wonderfully elegant and light, but it's good to take note that it also has some small imperfections due to its historic character and the fact that it has been renovated to be a three season house. Inevitably you might come across critters like moths and mice from time to time, although we do our very best to minimize this.
In Andy's Cabin you are truly and freely embedded in nature, and a simpler way of life, while not being cut off from modern civilization. We look forward to welcoming you as our new guest in this peaceful and charming getaway cabin.
Surroundings
The Beartooth Front is one of the most beautiful areas of Montana. Starting in the charming tourist town of Red Lodge, with its Festival of Nations every September, you can drive southwest to the Northeast Entrance of Yellowstone Park taking in the spectacular views from the Beartooth Highway as you rise above Red Lodge Creek. After you summit the 11,000 foot Beartooth Pass you continue over the flower studded tundra and past the high snow-fed lakes to Cooke City and to the wolf, bear, bison and geyser environment of Yellowstone.
As you travel west from Red Lodge along the Beartooth front, a trio of deep canyons release the East and West Rosebud and Stillwater Rivers, who further north flow into the Yellowstone River. As well as fishing, hiking and horseback riding, there are opportunities for kayaking, rafting, hunting in season, and cultural, art and music events and festivals.
For supplies and services there are full grocery stores, hardware stores and banks in Red Lodge and also closer in Absarokee, 15 miles north of Roscoe. Billings, Montana’s largest city with extensive commercial services, is 70 miles to the northeast, and its airport serves the area and is easily reached by car in ninety minutes.

Summary: Restored cabin with European feel finished in light wood with large windows overlooking a beautiful stream and meadow visited by deer and turkey. The full kitchen has most everything you might need. The on-demand water heater was great, as was the wood-lined shower. The nearby mountains provide many scenic drives, hiking, fishing and horseback riding opportunities. We walked just eight minutes along the stream to the well-regarded Grizzly Bar and Grill. The delightful mountain town of Red Lodge nineteen miles east gave us plenty of nice restaurants and shops to take advantage of and a full service grocery store. Smaller but closer is the village of Absarokee, where we went rafting. And of course don’t miss the Fishtail General Store and the nearby Tippet Rise Art Center. We certainly plan to return to Andy’s Cabin next summer.
