Our cabin -- Sawtell Shores Retreat -- is conveniently located at the north end of Island Park, ID – adjacent to Henry’s Lake State Park – and, it's is a mere 15 miles from the charming Town of West Yellowstone, MT -- Gateway to world-famous Yellowstone National Park! It has 6 beds total, providing plenty of room for family gatherings, fishing-minded groups, and other adventurers.
You’ll also find World renowned fishing opportunities just minutes away.
You'll have access to the main cabin/house with a large back deck overlooking the lake + a separate structure just steps away which is the bunkhouse (bedroom with 3 beds, bathroom, kitchennette, and the 2 car garage + an outdoor grass firepit area. It is all yours to enjoy during your stay. An incredible value.

In the main house, the master bedroom area features a king size bed, a full bathroom, and a walk-in closet. The loft setting of the master bedroom also has a sitting area and its position affords amazing views of Sawtell Peak (9,900 feet), the Centennial Mountain range, and Henry’s Lake. It’s the perfect place for that morning cup of coffee or just relaxing and reading a good book.
Bedroom #2 is on the main level and includes a queen size bed and adjacent full bathroom; the thoughtful bathroom layout places the sink in a separate area from the toilet/shower, which is very useful on busy mornings.
Bedroom #3 is in the newly-reimagined and modern “bunkhouse,” which is steps away from the main house. Featuring its own brand of privacy, this area includes a queen size bed and two twin beds – perfect for that family of four! This area also includes a full bathroom PLUS a kitchenette with coffee bar, refrigerator, and microwave oven. Groups are sure to be drawing straws to see who gets to stay in the bunkhouse!
The main dining and family room area of the main cabin also had a pullout bed/couch for additional sleeping room.
The nicely-sized, fully-equipped galley kitchen features stainless steel appliances. The meals you prepare there can be enjoyed at the large new farmhouse table in the adjacent dining area.
The living room is the perfect gathering place to enjoy the awesome views (and perhaps a glimpse of the moose that frequent the lakeside willows). There’s ample seating, including a sofa (which has a queen bed), love seat, and leather recliner. A gas fireplace is both the visual centerpiece and the main source of warmth to take the chill off.
There’s also a 4K big screen television just in case you want to catch up on current events, stream Netflix, Disney+, etc on the smart TV or watch a favorite movie on DVD multiple DVD movies included). In addition, there’s high-speed Wi-Fi throughout for streaking, work, etc. For your convenience, there’s also a laundry area with full-size washing machine and dryer.
The cabin’s outdoor spaces are arguably the best part! The large front deck is oriented toward the beautiful sunrises and is a great place for morning coffee. The new stainless steel grill is also located there. The outdoor table located on the deck is the perfect “al fresco” dining location. Between the main house and the bunkhouse, there’s a fire pit surrounded by inviting seating. It’s sure to be a favorite evening gathering place! The spacious back deck is all about the views!
There is ample parking available, including the paved driveway and a gravel pad for overflow/boat parking.
Once you’re able to tear yourself away from the cabin, adventure is all around you! A short 20 minute drive takes you to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park, where 2.2 million acres of exploration awaits. With its world famous geysers, geothermal features, rivers, lakes, wildlife, fishing, mountains, and canyons, there’s something for everyone. In addition to Yellowstone, the Island Park area has its own boundless possibilities. World-class fishing is as close as Henry’s Lake itself, with numerous other lakes and blue-ribbon trout streams (such as the Madison River and Henry’s Fork) in the immediate vicinity.
There are several guided horseback outfitters in the area, including at the beautiful and historic Harriman State Park. If you’re looking for ATV/OHV adventure, there’s hundreds of miles of trails and old logging roads in the immediate area as well!
