The Space
Schaefer House is curated specially for comfortable stays, families and business travelers. Super cozy beds outfitted with crisp 100% pima sateen cotton sheets, spaces throughout to gather and relax, fully equipped kitchen, large dining table, and coffee station. A cozy living area with binge-watch ready smart TV. An expansive backyard with Grill, and Pergola covered patio with plenty of outdoor seating await you and your group.
Nestled in a quiet, friendly community with the park, playscape, basketball courts, trails and Colorado River just down the street. With charming Bastrop just outside your door and Austin and all it's awesomeness just 35 minutes away, Schaefer House is a perfect spot for you and your friends and family to gather.
I'm a professional artist living in Austin with my husband of 22 years, 13 year old son, and our Doxle dog. Running our VRBO properties not only allows me to continue working as an artist, but it also allows me to show hospitality to guests from all over the world, which I love! When you stay at one of our properties, you'll not only get to stay in a place I've personally decorated for comfort and beauty, but you will also be well cared for.
Guest Access
A vehicle is recommended to get around, however, Uber, Lyft and Bastrop Rides are available. There is parking for two vehicles in the driveway and additional parking on the street. Please no recreational vehicles.
Other Things to Note
Contactless check-in! You'll get a private, unique-to-you code for the door and be able to arrive whenever is convenient to you after 3pm, and come and go as you wish. We'll be a quick phone call or text away, but there's no need to ever lay eyes on us!
Pets
For pets, we ask that you let us know about each of your pets...breeds, if they are taking flea and tick preventative, and if they are house and crate trained. There is a $100 fee per pet.
Mail
For mail service, a fully refundable deposit of $50 for the mail key is required, to be refunded upon return of the mail key.
No Smoking of Any Kind
There is absolutely no smoking permitted in Schaefer House. If evidence of smoking or vaping are detected by housekeeping, you will be charged a $750 fee.
Late Check Out
Because we often have same day turnovers, there will be a late check out fee of $150 when housekeeping arrives and guests are not yet checked out. If guests remain 1 hour past check out time, a full day's rate will be charged.
We ask that you communicate with us immediately if there is anything unsatisfactory about the property when you arrive so we can have the cleaner come over as quickly as possible.
