Hollywood Beach offers many ways to enjoy its spectacular natural setting along California’s Central Coast. The beaches offer white sands, Pacific blue waters and a variety of sun-and-surf activities that will make your vacation endlessly fun. Feel like going for a swim, a bike ride, a walk on the beach, or kayaking or fishing along the shore? How about something a little more adventurous-like sport fishing, scuba diving or setting sail? Nearly year-round temperate weather, stunning beaches and a harbor filled with waterside activities are yours to enjoy.
Our quaint home is yours to enjoy for 3 days, a week, or a month. Upstairs is the living area, which includes; 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, living room and an eat in kitchen. It sleeps 4 people; 2 people in the bedroom, and 2 people in the living room. Ammenities include Internet access, flat screen TV with HBO and Showtime, DVD player and a stereo for your listening pleasure. Downstairs is a 2 car garage with a washer and dryer. The outdoor living space is considered large for a beach home, and includes a table and chairs with an umbrella and a gas BBQ.
Our home is located 1 block from the Pacific Ocean and 1 block from the Channel Islands Harbor. There are activities for everyone to enjoy:
Every Sunday, there is a Farmer's Market, which is a short 3 minute walk from our home. Mrs. Olsen's is an excellent place for breakfast, which is located around the corner. A five minute walk, and you can have a fabulous dinner at the Whale's Tail. If you enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, or biking, you can rent them down the street at Channel Islands Harbor Rentals or at the Channel Island Marine Emporium. For the golf enthusiast, it's a 5 minute drive to the River Ridge Golf Course. There are many activities nearby for the family to enjoy; Golf n Stuff, the Santa Barbara Zoo, Island Packers for a whale watching adventure, or the Scarlette Belle Cruise on a private yacht. Shopping anyone? The Camarillo Premium Outlets are about a 15 minute drive from Hollywood Beach. If extreme sports are your thing, check out Channel Island Sport Fishing, Channel Island Helicopters, Jim Hall Kart Racing, or Ventura Dive and Sport. Nearby destinations include Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Disneyland, local wine tasting from Malibu to Santa Ynez, or gambling at the Chumash.

Summary: Overall, our experience was good—hence the 5 stars! I’ll do this in pros/cons format. Pros: Communication—Janell was a great communicator throughout the entire time. If I had a question or needed something, she was a text away. I even had to call once and she picked up and was available. Flexibility—Janell was super accommodating to our needs. We ended up getting to our place a day later than expected, so she offered to let us stay an extra night (which was suuuuper helpful considering our situation!). That was an incredibly kind thing she did! Location—Wow! What an awesome spot. Hollywood Beach is an absolute gem. It really does feel like your own private beach. Any given sunset you *might* see ten or so people across the span of one mile. We frequented the beach for sunsets. Channel Islands Blvd. has most of your needs right up the street and the harbor was fun too! Price—For the location, you won’t beat this price. If you’re on a budget but still want a great experience, this place is a great option. Amenities—Really loved having the garage space and the backyard area. It was convenient to be able to park both cars inside. Nice for the kids to be able play at times outback too. Cons: Little Bit Old—Our only con to our experience was the age of the place itself and some of the stuff inside (furniture, kitchen, bathroom, etc.). It’s functional for sure but on its way out. It might not be a bad idea to give the entire place an update/remodel in the near future. That would take the experience to the next level! Just my $.02! That’s it! All things considered, I’d recommend it! We’re super thankful for our time here and Janell being accommodating and a good communicator—this place suited our families needs in a very pivotal point in our lives. Thanks again!
